This Striking Tea Ceremony Bowl was formed entirely by hand with out the use of a potters wheel. The bowl was initially pinched out a large lump of clay. Once the form was achieved it was allowed to dry and then trimmed by hand. The bowl was then then decorated with a single slip called Oni-ita and then covered with and Shino glaze and fired for several days.
