Shaped with Soul

I was born and have lived the majority of my life in California and I have always felt connected to it's landscape. I also grew up surrounded by water, playing in it, swimming, and even meeting the love of my life while swimming in college. These two facets of my life, the breathtaking California landscapes and the natural element of water evoke emotions in me. It is these emotions that I capture and freeze in my ceramic work.

Energy and   Emotion

My artwork represents a continuous line of learning, research, and experimentation and captures the raw beauty of California's natural landscape and its precarious interconnection with water. The beauty of Yosemite, the orchards of my youth in the silicon valley, the ripples in the water of morning practice, and the clouds changing California 's fate, all influence and inform my art. I was born, raised, live, and am raising my daughter in a state ravaged by drought. Through it all, it is and will always be beautiful. Please enjoy the emotions of my ceramic work.

Simply  Stunning

Christian K Bonner studio is dedicated to working with materials by hand. A humble and small ceramic studio where each piece is unique, made from recycled and sustainable materials, and the hand forming methods used by generations of potters is honored and refined on a daily basis. No two piece is alike in any production of work, each having it's own character and spirit, and these are designed so that they will develop and mature through the objects use. Each piece is developed through a dialogue of material and artisan in all phases of production and each vessel leaves the studio exhibiting a timeless beauty. Through use, an appreciation and dialogue between the user and object will develop and the owner will help enhance the life of the vessel allowing it to change through use.
